China's Y-15, previously called the Y-30, is a four-engine turboprop transport developed by Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation to replace the Y-9.
The aircraft resembles the Airbus A400M but is smaller, with WJ-10 engines producing roughly 6,800 horsepower versus the A400M's 11,000.
Its rear loading ramp and heavy-duty landing gear suit austere airfield operations, useful for reinforcing remote outposts and island bases.
